Synopsis

Switching between modern day England the British Occupied West Indies, the play revolves around the lives of husband and wife Alfonse and Cherrie (the plot is also interjected with many songs, sung by Alfonse and the company). In modern day, Alfonse has become estranged from his family and is about to leave England, potentially to return to the West Indies. It is suggested that Alfonse was once a great husband to Cherrie, but the pressures of fatherhood and living in England have led him to beat his children and cheat on his wife. As his day of departure gradually grows nearer, his family each have their final encounters with him, for better or for worse.
