Biography
Yulisa Amadu Maddy was a Sierra Leonean playwright, novelist, critic, and performing artist. He was founder and director of Gbakanda Afrikan Tiata, which won the Edinburgh Festival Fringe First Award for “Pulse” in 1979. He has worked for the BBC, Radio Denmark and was a senior Fulbright Scholar at the University of Maryland and Morgan State University. He has taught at several other universities in the United States and Africa. He passed away in 2014.
