Tyrone Huggins

Biography

Born in St Kitts Tyrone Huggins is an actor, writer, and director. After graduating from Leeds University with a degree in metallurgy, Huggins co-founded the experimental visual theatre company, Impact Theatre Co-operative, and toured with them nationally and internationally. Huggins has performed in over seventy theatres including the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre, and West Yorkshire Playhouse, where he played the central role in the world premier of Wole Soyinka’s Beatification of Area Boy. Huggins has written nine commissioned plays and has served eighteen years on the board of Phoenix Dance Company and Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
